Be prepared, this is long and random... thanks 4am insomnia.
My relationship with 3am is becoming more steady. I'm not all that sure that I'm pleased with this budding romance, but it's here nonetheless.
Tonight... er, this morning (one of my problems with this time of day/night) I just gave in and came downstairs. Most nights I fight to go back to sleep, but I decided that the "cure" this time was to come downstairs, saline rinse my nose, and put in The Little Mermaid.
I'm reminded of waking up in the mornings at my house to find my dad watching Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, or Little Mermaid when I was a kid. Maybe it was a result of not being able to sleep. Personally, I'm hoping to grab a nap here in a couple hours before I have to go into work at 9:30.
Thanksgiving week has me all kinds of messed up as far as my days of the week go. Combine that with a holiday work schedule, and I don't really know up from down at the moment. Hopefully working a normal Saturday shift and having off on Sunday will put me back in a right perspective.
We're now nearing the two week mark before I'm due, whatever that will actually mean for me in reality. As we get closer to "D-Day" my inbox is flooded with emails from my few pregnancy sites with articles, Q&A, and other "helpful" tidbits on what I should expect from labor and delivery.
Personally, I've seen a trend in women having a serious idolization with the idea of a vaginal delivery. I always assumed it would be more important to ensure a safe and healthy delivery, but maybe that's what they believe is best. Josh and I discussed it months ago and said that we'll not be tied down to any one way of delivering and be willing to do what is best for us and Jude at the advice and direction of our doctor, who has been great through this entire event.
Pregnancy wise, we'll go in for another check on Tuesday. I've been waking up puking again pretty consistently, but I'm crediting that to my allergies and the chalky taste that TUMS leaves in my mouth in the morning. They may not be the culprit, but they're going to take the blame. I'm exhausted after most regular activity, but I suppose pregnancy was bound to catch up to this body of mine sooner or later.
(Side note: Kiss the Girl = One of my favorite Disney scenes/songs ever.)
(Another side note: One day, I will be seeing Little Mermaid on Broadway and I will probably pee my pants with excitement.)
The nursery is basically done save a couple storage bins needed for under his crib. We set up his little swing in the living room and his carseat is patiently waiting to be installed in my car. Our stroller is hanging out by the door, and all but one basket of his little clothes is laundered and put away. We'll get our changing station/storage delivered by my WONDERFUL parents sometime in the next week or so, it's proving to be a bit of a bear to put together.
Tonight, Josh and I are going to see The Muppet Movie, I'm excited. Hopefully I can get a nap in after work so that I can stay awake for it.
Sunday is my birthday, which is kind of exciting and kind of just another day in my mind. We're going to really live it up and take a $5.00 birthday coupon to Jason's Deli, where I will consume a potato and half the salad bar, unapologetically. He's buying me a new pair of TOMS for my birthday, but I requested that I get them 6-8 weeks post delivery so that any swelling can go down in my feet.
Since I just yawned, I'm assuming that I might be able to catch that nap now, so I think I'm going to wrap this up. I leave you with a couple favorites from Pinterest this last week:
working on one for little guy.
too true.

The Little Mermaid is by far my very favorite Disney movie ever. I absolutely LOVE it. :)
