A Recipe Post

Two things have come out of our kitchen today that are particularly tasty. Since I want a break from pillow designing, I thought I'd share them here.

Homemade "Everything But the Sink" Chicken Noodle Soup
disclaimer: this isn't so much a recipe as it is a list of what I throw together, but it does make a consistently tasty soup. This is great as a way to make leftovers into something new! For tonight's installment, I had bbq chicken, frozen veggies, and some weird small macaroni noodles. You can use anything leftover that you have, that's the beauty of this "kitchen sink" recipe.

Leftover Chicken, deboned
Veggies (My go to mix has okra, celery, carrot, onion, green beans, and lima beans)
Chicken Broth (homemade, box, bouillon/water, whatev.)
Celery Salt
Garlic Powder
Salt/Pepper
Noodles (I like tiny macaroni noodles, but use whatever you got)

Toss all ingredients into a pot (minus noodles) in whatever proportions you like. Let heat until veggies, chicken, and broth are hot. Add noodles, cook until tender.

Serve with rolls and butter. Yummy!

Ready To Eat Sugar Cookie Dough
this business is addictive. i found the original recipe via pinterest at willowbirdbaking.wordpress.com.

Yields: about 1 1/2-2 cups cookie dough

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
1-2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar for 2-3 minutes until light, fluffy, and pale yellow. Mix in flour and vanilla. Add water one tablespoon at a time, mixing after each, until you reach cookie dough consistency. Add sprinkles, it makes it more fun.
