It's a...

Boy!

We found out last Tuesday that we'll be welcoming a little boy into our family come December. We had our BIG anatomy ultrasound on Friday and were excited that he got a great little report. He officially measures around 5-6 days ahead of my "official" due date... but we're keeping it where it is. I'm still choosing to believe that he'll come late so that anything sooner is just a relief.

We've decided to name him:.

Jude Michael

It was a name Josh had thrown out during one (of many, many) name talks. We both liked it, but thought maybe we would save it to use for other boys down the road. We had a name that we thought we were pretty stuck on for our firstborn, but as things go, it changed.

We wanted him to have a name that had some meaning to it, whether biblical or sentimental. Jude is a derivative of Judah, the tribe from the Old Testament that the lineage of Christ came from. Michael is the Archangel that is considered the field commander of God's Army of Angels and is mentioned in Daniel and Revelation, where he leads the battle against Satan.

It's made pregnancy much more "real" after attaching a name to him. Also, having an ultrasound photo that doesn't look like a sea monkey helps. This weekend in Waco we picked up the crib from my in-laws and got Jude some cute outfits.

Now it's onto the other fun things, like nursery planning and for me, working on a birth announcement/New Years card for this year. I'm going to take some newborn pictures of him and (hopefully) we'll have some family photos taken later on in the spring.
