5 Months

Jude-Boy, how are you five months old!?

This month we decided to go ahead and introduce solid foods into your diet. I have a sneaking suspicion that you have your Daddy's metabolism, which means you eat and eat and still have a skinny little waistline. So far you eat rice cereal, applesauce, sweet potato, and banana. You love them ALL. I really thought you'd dislike something... but so far, that's not the case.

This month we also did quite a bit of traveling. You were the perfect "get well soon" gift when Grandma Barnes had surgery. We spent a couple days relaxing down there until we knew she was up and moving again. We also went to Georgetown for Easter weekend. You had so much fun being loved on by Mimi, Rhonda, and the kids.

You have really continued to master the arts of moving and talking. You can roll over really well from either side and are starting to scoot towards a toy that you want. You also LOVE to be standing up. The jumparoo has been my best friend because it lets you jump and play and lets me get some things done and give my arms a rest. You can also stay in a sitting position for 15 or so seconds. All in all your favorite things to get are things I have in my hands (paper, phone, water bottle).

You babble constantly and have a few defined sounds: "A" "H" "M" "O", but no real words. You accidentally said "mama" in church the other day, but I know that it wasn't intentional.

You're finally realizing that a couple good naps during the day are great! Your morning nap usually always happens in your crib but the afternoon nap either happens on me or in your small swing downstairs. You didn't like that swing for awhile, but now it seems it's back "en vogue".

We got a yard put in this last month thanks to Mimi and Gpaw and you've enjoyed sitting outside on the chairs in the mornings. You've also taken a really keen interest in Grimm. You follow him with your eyes all around the house. You will even grab his fur and pull if we get him close enough. He's so patient with you, which is so great. He's just happy to have attention and only asks that you let him lick your hands, which you love and mommy can't stand.

You're still on reflux meds and they seem to be helping you keep your food down better. We still have some days where it seems like it's bad, but I think that's more in relation to having allergies. When all that snot and junk gets into your tummy, it's just gross. Speaking of snot, you really, really, really hate having your nose cleaned out.

Baby-love, you make my good days better and my bad days worth it. Your daddy and I love you more than we can ever say.

Love, Mom
