No one told me that my first Mother's Day had a central theme to it.
Jude was DEDICATED to sleeping as little as possible. He accomplished this by staying up until 1am on Sunday morning and then only sleeping until 4:00am. It was a very unexpected break in sleeping habits. I'm not sure if he was feeling crummy (he only ran a 99.0 degree fever) or just decided to ring in Mother's Day right.
Our family and friends joined us at church as we DEDICATED our Jude-Boy to the Lord. Getting to stand in front of our church family and say that we were committed to raising him in a way that was God focused and pray for the day he will choose to follow the Lord was such a sweet time and we were honored that our families were DEDICATED to traveling up to be with us for it.
Our house was DEDICATED to making sure all three of us caught a stomach bug. This meant that Sunday afternoon, Josh came down with the same nasty sickness that had me feeling miserable on Friday/Saturday. So, in the middle of our Mother's Day/Dedication Lunch, my poor husband went upstairs and spent the rest of the day feeling horrible.
I was (unknowingly) DEDICATED to adding just another hiccup in our health and general wellness. That night I went downstairs to make Jude a bottle. As I was downstairs he began to cry and in my rush up the stairs and to his room, I took my foot into the table leg and broke my toe.
All in all, it was a great first Mother's Day, even amidst all the fever, sickness, and broken bones. We really had a wonderful lunch with our family and friends and I enjoyed spending the day with all of them.
My bum foot and I will be taking it easy this week. I plan to watch some of my season finales, eat the leftover brownies, and continue to appreciate my Arnold Palmer drink station set up.
Hope you all are off to a happy week!
