The entire Parkhill/Pennington/Humphrey/Summer/Heien clan is headed to Cozumel, Mexico this summer on a cruise. Yes, my friends, it is possible to coordinate the schedules of fourteen adults and manage to get them on the same boat at the same time.
Seeing as I've never been on a cruise, I'm equal parts excited and curious about this little venture. I hear I can eat my weight in food each day and there are millions of things to do. The husband has been looking into excursions for our time on the island and there are a number of them that he thinks could be fun.
My biggest questions is: What to pack? Needless to say, this habitual over packer is already working on her "to do" list. I know there are dressier nights, no so dressy times, and when we're in Cozumel I'll want to pack appropriately for our excursion. I have a few casual dress patterns that have been sitting in my bookmarks that will be making their cruise debut (including a copy of a certain spool 72 dress I've been eying) and I believe a new swim suit is in order. I will also be investing in some sunglasses and some SPF bajillion since the only color I turn is red.
So, what do you pack on a cruise?
Lots of sundress-type dresses bc the breeze will be nice since it's hot. :)
ReplyDeleteThere is a night that dinner will be "dressier" than the other nights, but every other night you can wear jeans and a nice top.
Yes! You can [and will] eat your weight in food. There will be 4-5 appetizers on the menu and if each sounds good, you can order all of them! Same with main course and dessert! So much yummy food!
Cozumel is so much fun. They have a cute little outdoor mall with fun little shops [mostly souvenir shops] and just a block or so from port is Margaritaville which has really yummy food and an amazing drink called a Cabana Colada that I will most definitely be having again this time. :)
