Thoughts on a Couch

Today is my third day on a couch. I'd be lying if I said I'm not kind of bored with it, but I also can't quite convince myself to get up and be productive.

Hooray for Josh, who has been incredible the last few days. He's done everything from preparing the Cubbies lesson for Wednesday night to refilling my water glass every time it's about to be empty. He also makes sure I'm awake at the right time(s) to take my meds. He took off work yesterday to take me to/from the doctor's office. So, so thankful that he has a job that gives us health insurance and let's him take off with pay. I would have been a junky mess yesterday without him here.

Transitioning to the kennel is going really, really well. I'm so happy there, even if it's MUCH more demanding physically. I average about 2 miles walking while I'm there, not counting the stretching, squatting, or arm work out from mopping and squeegeeing the floors.

I love, love, love my job. :)

Grimm passed his temperment eval, so he's now approved to go to playcare. He did really good meeting the other dogs, but did seem a little bit unsure of the great dane. Ha! He's used to being the big dog... not being towered over. I'm hoping that we can get him in about once a week to play. It will be good for him to get to play with other dogs during the day since it will socialize him a little bit more. It will also be good for Josh and I, since it should help to tire him out and give us a (slightly) more mellow dog.

I should have some rock solid abs when I get over this infection. All the coughing and sneezing has my torso so sore!

I'm not working this weekend. Hopefully, I can get Josh to go get me new tires/tubes for my bike and go on a ride. I'd like to bike from our house to campus and go scope out some place to take pictures for a gal and her fiance who want their engagement photos taken on campus. With my cough and all, I'm hoping that I won't be completely out of breath.

And now, I nap.

  1. Boo on being sick! I know the feeling and I am so over all the sickness this year already!

Oh I wish we had health insurance. I'm SO glad you guys do! It definitely comes in handy. ;)

I'm so glad you enjoy your job! It definitely makes it easier to put more effort into something when you enjoy it. :) Plus, I think it's wonderful Grimm can go. Yay for him passing the temperment eval. :) :)

    Hope you're feeling better!
