Sprinklers in the Summer

So far, our summer has gotten off to a great start. We found out Josh will be working days, which is a complete blessing, and I'm going to be staying on at work for another month or so until we can get the reception area running nice and smooth. The extra money from my job will be covering our vacations, so that was also a great blessing in how it's all worked out. The other plus is that I'm only working on days where Josh will be home, so we aren't having to play the "find a babysitter" game, which I am immeasurably grateful for.

We're quickly finding ways to make our new place feel like home. The inside is almost finished, save a few more prints for the walls and we've been making plans for the backyard as well. I didn't realize how much I'd missed having a bigger space out there, but even when we weren't using it while we waited to get the fence repaired, I found I was already longing for it. The yard is about half shaded in the late afternoon/evening, so it's a perfect place to escape to when Jude and I are both anxiously awaiting Josh's return from the hospital.

Today, I decided to try and start encouraging more confidence with water. If you haven't heard, my child is dramatically afraid of swimming pools. He loves his bath but will act like you're pulling a toenail if you get him within 3 feet of water. While it bums me out, a small piece of me is glad that his daredevil streak does have a stopping point. (This week he jumped off of a 12 inch step and took a dive... oui.) I got out the sprinkler and set it up. At first he wasn't so sure, but in no time he was acting like a maniac.

I didn't initially have my camera, but once he started playing, I just knew it was something I'd regret not getting on camera.
