(This post is more for myself and grandparents, so if you don't care how many words my kid is saying these days, feel free to just wait for more pictures!) :)
Here's the list of what all Jude is saying these days. At 16 months, we think his vocabulary is pretty good. He usually sticks to 1-2 word phrases, but can say "Gig 'em, Aggies" like any good maroon-blooded boy should. :)
Names and Faces that He recognizes and says:
Mommy, Daddy, Gpaw (Paw-Paw), Mimi, Ryan (Wy-Wy), Gigi, H, Zach (Yak), Brynn, Will, Katherine (Cat), Nick, Leighton (Lay-tn), Sydni (Nee-Nee), Ken, Poppy (Potty), Nanny, Brody, Carson (Cason), Brooks, Dre-Dre, Trent (Tent), Paige (Paaa), Connor, Apryl (Coco), Sarah, Bryan.
Objects:
Ball, book (buk), truck (tuk), car (caw), moon, stars, chair, shoe, sock, cup, light, backpack (pack-pack), airplane (ai-pane), basketball (bak-et-bawl), bath, baby, drill, tractor, glasses/googles, watch, clock, keys.
Body Parts:
nose, ears, eyes, hair, mouth (mowth), teeth (tee), toes, leg, arm, fingers.
Foods:
Cracker (kak-r), milk, juice (jewes), water, cookie (key-koo), snack (nak), hummus (hum-s), banana (nanana), lunch, breakfast, pickle, raisins (yah-zens).
Phrases:
Night-night (niii-niii), please (pees), thank you (tank u), more (muh), bye-bye, go,
Animals (with sounds where applicable):
dog, cat, duck, chicken, deer, pig, goat/sheep, bird, owl, crow, horse/donkey, bug, turtle, swordfish, camel, fish, cow, frog
Cute Things:
Batman song (na-na-na-ba-maaan), "maniac" dance, dancing in general, sings "hey, jude", shows us his muscles and says, "pump it up!", gives hugs and kisses, high fives, fist bumps with "explosion", will tell you silly things that some people say (Sydni, Ken, Bryan)
I don't think this is completely inclusive. He will repeat most anything we say with pretty good annunciation. We're working on saying, "yes ma'am" and "yes" and starting on our colors.
