Jude at 14 Months

At 14 months, Jude is full of personality! We are constantly told that he is one of the happiest and friendliest kids people have met. To his credit, he really does love to go anywhere and do anything. He's very flexible and doesn't mind a change of pace, as long as there's food.

He continues to pick up new words and sounds. He can now name our immediate family members (mimi, gpaw, gigi, h, ryan, and zach) and point to them in photos. He can also name Sydni (nee-nee) in person or in a photo, which pretty much means he's melted the heart of our favorite 16 year old. He has also learned how to say: bite, snack, down, book, and clock. He also can now tell you the sounds for: kitty-cat, cow, chicken, car, monkey, and sometimes a frog. He still signs and sometimes says: bite, more, thank you, please, more, and all done.

We've started learning: eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. He can point to them with a 50/50 shot of getting it right but he's really enthusiastic and even says the words with you, so it's progress!

He jabbers pretty constantly and you can tell that he's trying to say something, it's just in his own language. My two favorite right now are a string of "pika-piko-pika-piko" and "no-ba-dah-dah-do" that he says day after day.

He still loves cars, books, balls, and Scout. He also really enjoys being outside and will run to find his shoes if you tell him we're going "bye-bye". The running... oh my word, he doesn't stop. Sometimes I just pick him up and pretend to restrain him because he's WILD. He is very active, which also translates to a big boy appetite.

He easily eats a regular portion of what we're eating. A typical breakfast includes 1 scrambled egg, 1 piece of toast with something on it, a full sippy of milk, 1 banana, and some raisins. He usually wants a snack a couple hours later, then lunch is usually a full sized sandwich. For dinner, he just eats whatever we're having that night. I worry about life with him as a teenager...

Clothing wise, he's solidly in 12 month clothes with some 12-18 months fitting better and better as the days go on. He's 30.5 inches tall and probably hovering around 24 or so lbs., maybe?

Whelp. I think that about catches us up!
