4 months to go until the big ONE.

Baby, you are 8 months old.

You are undeniably full of personality. You laugh, yell, play, tease, and have opinions. Overall, you are one of the happiest babies most people have ever met, and they tell us so! I love that you don't have an "I need Mommy" complex. You ADORE girls and old people. I think you've started recognizing people other than Daddy and me. You are a little more reserving of your smiles when you initially meet someone, but you VERY quickly warm up.

You are a mover. This month you started pulling up on people when they're on the floor with you. You can also pull up in your crib when you're in a sitting position. You love when we help you stand and grab the couch or a table or a church pew. No walking along things, but your stance is looking a lot more sturdy and less "oh hey legs let's just hang out". You stood up in your crib when you were angry the other night, which was funny to me because you couldn't get down, but you were not quite so amused.

You still love to eat. Baby food, bottles, table food, or finger snacks... you love it all. You've dropped all nursing except a morning and night feeding, which makes me a little sadder than I thought it would, but I don't want to fight it and make it something I create some silly idol of. You will a couple times a week come up to me while we're playing, climb up, and try to nurse randomly during the day. I'm happy to oblige for now, but we'll probably start weaning you around 11 months so that by 1 year we're done. I'm proud that we've made it 8 months with me working part time, so that we're able to successfully do it even at all now is a great accomplishment in my book. I do love that you can be with others for longer and I don't have to lug a pump around.

This last week we stayed up in Grand Prairie for Aunt Kat's wedding week. I was a little concerned about your sleep schedule but in Jude-fashion you were just easy-peasy and happy to be doted on. Even your sleeping stayed pretty consistent.

As far as sleeping goes, you have really become a ROCKSTAR sleeper. You take about two 2 hour naps a day and sleep around 10 hours at night. This is an answered prayer, sweet boy. It gives me lots of time to work on things at home or catch a quick nap myself. You've also become great at putting yourself to sleep and not fussing for more than just a few minutes, another answered prayer.

I say it every month, but you are such a  JOY in my life and in the life of your daddy. We love you more than you will ever understand.

All my love,
Mom
