10 Months

[[Better late than never, right?!]]

Jude-Boy, you are 10 months old!

Crazy to think I will only write one more of these posts before I say you're one... time just goes so fast!

You are a hoot to be around. You crack yourself and us up with all your antics. You love to play peek-a-boo, especially when you can crouch behind something and pop up at us. You're less than refined on the timing of saying "boo", but that just makes it all the cuter.

You FINALLY started crawling on all fours. The army crawl was your way of moving for so long, I almost thought it wouldn't happen, but just last week you started on all fours and have only gotten better. You can also cruise along the furniture like a champ, and even climb up to stand along a bare wall. There's not much that stands in your way of getting from point A-B. This, unfortunately, includes climbing onto obstacles like wipe boxes and mommy's purse, and you've had some good tumbles trying to scale over things you probably shouldn't be scaling.

You are scared of people you aren't familiar with, but we know this is just a passing phase, so we don't worry about it too much. We simply encourage you to play with them and let them hold you. Eventually, you seem to catch on that they aren't a threat.

You eat everything but the big no-no foods for your age. Your earlier apple aversion seems to have gone away, which makes me really happy since that's such an easy side/snack to give you. You take 3-4 8oz. bottles a day and eat a loose breakfast, lunch, and dinner of solids. We still haven't found anything you don't eat, which is a blessing.

You have a number of words and signs. You can say "mama", "dada", "bah" (ball, boo, boom - depending on context), "nana" (banana), "bye-bye" (complete with wave), "nie-nie" (night-night). You can sign "more", "please", and "all done."

Your bestie right now is definitely Brooks. When we go over to watch the boys on Tuesday you two just find each other and are inseparable. You like to climb together, play with balls, and work on Brook's sweet motorcycle.

You now have 4 teeth! The two bottom came in and less than 2 weeks later you cut the top two. It was not a great few weeks, but now you have the absolute cutest little grin, complete with scrunched eyes and baring teeth. It's equally precious and terrifying.

You are a bit of a pistol when you want something and have been known to pitch a fit when you don't get it or we take it away. (See photo proof below.) You have discovered biting while nursing and just when you want to, so we're working on that NOT becoming a habit.

All in all, you're our favorite kid that ever walked the planet. We love you little guy and are so excited to see what the end of this first year brings!

{Monthly Stats}

Weight: 19lbs. (11%)
Length: Didn't measure at doctor's appointment

Eating: Nursing when you wake, bottles at 9:30am, 1:00pm, 6:00pm, and nursing right before bedtime. {you eat what we eat with the exception of the big no-no foods}

Bedtime: 9pm
Awake: Around 8am
Naps: 10:30am and 3pm, give or take 30 minutes
Diapers: Size 4's, Fuzzibunz One Size (moved up all my elastics to a bigger setting!)
Clothes: 9-12 month and some 12-18 month for length. We still have to put you in a cloth for some pants since you need a fake butt to make some things fit really well.
Favorites: ball-cano (new toy from grandparents), anything you can drum, sock monkey, blankets, pacis (a rediscovered pass time), scout, mega-blox.

Latest Tricks: new words, standing for 1-3 seconds on your own, shaking your head "no", biting, semi-rolling the ball back to us.
